Yesterday was supposed to be the first day(of 2007) that my husband goes to work physically. He is allowed to work from home from time to time, he did so in between Christmas break and New Year. The truck hasn’t been started for about 10 days so he started it before taking a shower and to let it warm-up for a while. When he was all packed up with all his stuff(laptop, lunch, man-purse) and his four-legged assistant all snug at the passenger seat(yeah, the dog goes to the office too, but that’s another post) and ready to go, he noticed liquid dripping from the engine. He smelled it and it was diesel fuel! He had to unload the truck including a very confused four-legged assistant and call the mechanic service center. Since it was too dangerous to drive a vehicle with a leaking engine even for half a mile, it had to be towed. Thanks to the very reliable AAA, the truck was towed to the shop without us paying towing upfront. We have been rescued by AAA again. I have my share of AAA rescues and I believe that every driver should be a member. Some people might think of it as unnecessary expense but I think it’s worth the money. The membership fee is just as much as paying for one minimum non-emergency tow. I have been trying to convince a family friend to join but he only did so after his engine died on him while driving in the middle of the night.
Check out www.aaa.com , it gives you a comforting feeling to know that you can rely on them to help you change a tire, give a tow , jump start or let you in if you get locked out of your own car.
