I needed to take photos of cows for an article I’m working on and as we were driving to the farm, on the way we passed by a newly built mall center and decided to check it out after the cows’ pictures have been taken. One minute drive away from the Maple Lawn Farm was the brand new The Maple Lawn Mall Center.

We drove around and were very impressed by the architectural design of the whole place. It was carefully designed, even the street lights had black wrought iron lamp details. High end stores and restaurants were all over the vicinity. Calico Corners, Chophouse, Trapeze, Urban Chic and Quiznos were few of the signs that I can remember. There was even a big Raytheon Solipsys(a major high tech defense contractor) sign.

As we drove further down the road beyond the sprawling greens, a newly built community with old town inspired architecture came into view. The details of the exterior of the homes were very appealing as well. The condos are being sold for mid $400,000’s, anyone interested?

After driving around the gorgeous neighborhood, D wanted to show us the campus where he took some of his masters classes. Situated in the rolling hills just a stones throw away from Maple Lawn community was The John Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory campus. It was a very inviting environment and definitely conducive for learning , complete with huge old trees, a man-made lake, geese and surrounded by wide green lawns. D told me that there’s even a tennis court around the back.
