It’s been awhile since I have updated this blog. Our furry family member Little C(Shetland Sheepdog) passed away last month due to cancer. I’ll save you from the very emotional details, suffice to say that life itself seem to have stopped that day and the days that followed.
Dogs have a special place in the family. In return for their unconditional devotion, love and loyalty; we as their humans owe them best care we can give. Dogs need food(to be discussed in detail in another post), cuddles, exercise, lots of play, shelter and veterinary care. During the last months of our Little C’s life, he visited the veterinarian more often and it’s a good thing that Banfield has a Wellness Plan, in a way it’s a pet health insurance which helped out tremendously. We are really thankful for the people who thought about it. Even with a healthy dog, pet insurance for veterinary care makes sense. Keeping a dog healthy with preventive care like regular check-ups, vaccinations, dental hygiene is affordable with pet insurance. Everything else around us need to have some kind of insurance, why not the health care of our beloved pets?
I heard that some companies have started to offer pet health insurance as an employee benefit. I think that is really awesome! I wonder which companies offer the benefit? I also saw an advertisement on TV about All State car insurance (”Are you in good hands?”) offering pet coverage.
It would be good to see more insurance companies to offer pet health insurance to hopefully create some kind of competition, which is good for us consumers.
