I watched a new episode of Dirty Jobs earlier this evening and I have been inspired to write about it. This time Mike interned with the awesome farmer/inventor/entrepreneur who makes CowPots™ . “Matt and Ben Freund are second generation dairy farmers in the northwest hills of Connecticut.” They maximized what most people would think is a pile of smelly poo. Congratulations to Maryland’s Team @ the Solar Decathlon 2007!
The Solar Decathlon winners were announced today and among 20 deserving universities chosen world wide to compete by the US Department of Energy, University of Maryland won 2nd place beating Cornell, MIT, Duke and other universities! I should have known about this earlier this week so that I could have at least made my way to Washington DC to cheer for MD! Kudos to Costco’s Green Program
I was looking around for electronics at Costco.com the other day and I was very impressed with the Trade In or Recycle Program. They make it easy to send your old electronic equipment for trade-in or recycle. You can use the online Value Estimator to display your potential trade-in value or send an item in for direct recycle. There would be no more excuses for holding on to the old non-functioning equipment at home or office. [Read more...]
