Baby’s Favorite Toy and Weekly Question

Leah tagged me about sharing my baby’s favorite toy. Thanks for the tag Leah.
Here are the rules: Post a photo of your baby with her first ever favorite/comfort toy. Write some details of your fondest memory of your baby and her toy (like what I did below). This will make a good memento when your baby grows up!
Little K didn’t really have a favorite toy or a security blanket type toy all through out and she’s had different favorites in the past years. She went through phases, first was her pony stuff toy name Princess, then a puppy toy named Sasha, then Little K has been attached to Bamboo(Panda stuff toy) since we got him- yes it’s a HIM! I have been corrected many times. Little K saw him at the Smithsonian Museum and beg us to take him home. Now she has been attached to Bunny for the past year, she’s had Bunny since her second Easter but it’s only now that the little white stuff toy is getting special attention.
Little Bunny goes everywhere with Little K these days. Bunny even went to a Bon Voyage party for Bo Bear at school last week. Bo Bear came all the way from Paris and was brought home by each child.

Weekly Question 3: Each week Teacher Julie from her blog GreenBucks sends us a question to answer.
What were your favorite books as a child, specifically in your elementary school years?
I grew up staring at the pages of Cinderella and Snow White. The illustrations are just so pretty. I also enjoyed leafing through the dog-eared pages of an incomplete volume of International Encyclopedia and Journey across Americas, these books were supposed to have been junked but my father rescued them when the school that I went to phased out grade 7 and 8. It used to be an International School and they started adopting the Philippine school system. I have to admit that the American books has greatly influenced me into looking towards coming here in the US. I also credit the books containing Aesop’s Fables for life’s moral lessons stuck in my head.
We had a great library at school and they had a subscription to NG. Although National Geographic is a magazine, I consider one of my favorite “books.” And who could forget those strange illustrations and funny worded books by Dr. Seuss? The library also had this collection of Lady Bug books and the Golden Book series provided fun during the monsoon season. To think that I didn’t consider myself a bookworm because I would rather play outside during my elementary days.
When I became a mom, I made sure that Little K would enjoy books as well by reading to her, bringing her to our local library and buying her books. My hubby recently bought her set of Spiderwick books which they both enjoyed for bed time stories. We are all very excited that she is now a reader! I have to admit that it now freaks me out that she reads long words. Although, it is a challenge trying to distract her away when walking by store windows with huge posters big bold words “Sex in the City” .
Whenever we are invited to children’s parties, we would rather give books as gifts because looking at the pile of toys for the celebrant, it’s very obvious that many people don’t consider books as fun stuff to give to children.

Hi Tina. Thanks for the tag. I already did this tag before. You may find Yohan’s favorite toy posted here.
Bamboo and Little Bunny are so cute. I’m sure they will always have a special place in your daughter’s heart.
Wow, hindi ka pa bookworm niyan ha
I remember too those NG mags with the colorful photos, my mom used to ask for a copy or two from our relatives who also gave me the hardbound books. Spiderwick is rather “heavy” stuff though I haven’t read one yet. Julian has already read several of our The Magic Tree House books and Trixie has read several Lemony Snicket books
Thanks Tina and I do hope you had fun reminiscing.
Re the tag, I have been tagged by Christine (strawberrygurl) and of course, I haven’t done it yet
But I will. Soon I hope.
Take care.
Hi Rachel,
Thanks for letting me know you’ve done the tag before.
Hi Teacher Julie,
. Little K is so into the Spiperwick, I thought it was scary for here at first. It great that Julian and Trexie are bookworms.
It was fun reminiscing. We have a hard core bookworm in the family
